Participate in financial aid awarding and conduct federal verification process. Developed PowerPoint presentation for and represent the financial aid office at Campus Visit Days. Created a personalized financial planning document included with every prospective student financial aid package. Developed an online calculator to assist families in finding ways to meet their balance within their monthly budget by combining payment methods including Parent PLUS loans and Tuition Payment Plans.

Residence Director, Student Affairs

20 hours/week graduate assistantship, August 2012 - present

Sole responsibility for the management of a residence hall for 115 first-year men and six resident assistants. Adjudicate five student conduct cases per term as a hearing officer. Started and advise a ten-member hall council. Revised Behind Closed Doors staff training exercise to include academic and cultural issues. Developed a web-based administrative system for residence hall staff. Assisted in managing housing assignments for upperclass men and first-year roommate matching and placement. Revamped RA and RD 101 online training courses. Organized the Residence Life expenses and budget for supervisor transition.

Assessment Intern, Department of Pan-African Studies

Create a comprehensive assessment plan for the department’s various units, including the Center of Pan-African Studies, Institute for African-American Affairs, Communication Skills and Arts, African Community Theater, Uumbaji Art Gallery, and the Henry Dumas Memorial Research Library. Conduct analysis of course-based assessment tests for Black Experience I and Black Experience II courses.

Oversaw two residence halls with 200 residents and nine student staff members. Managed staff programming and $2,000 budget, evaluations, and on-call. Assisted with staff training and selection. Served as a Resident Advisor for first-year wellness communities from May 2009 until August 2011.

Coordinated the Lafayette Intercultural Networking Council. Worked closely with over 20 multicultural and service-oriented student organizations to establish and maintain collaborative efforts. Managed $23,000 budget and funding requests and facilitated discussions on diversity during first-year orientation.
